Experience

Brickman Group – New York, NY

Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Construction 2008-Present

  • Employed by the brickman group, a real estate owner and developer based in New York City. Recently completed the development and construction of a 116 unit condominium project with a 75,000 sqft Museum of African Art in the base of Fifth Avenue in New York City. Involved in pre-development activities relating to the development and construction of a five star hotel in Paget, Bermuda.

 

Antares – Stamford, CT

Senior Vice President Construction Development 2007-2008

  • Responsible for planning, preconstruction and environmental remediation activities for a multi-billion dollar mixed use development project in Stamford, Connecticut.

Independent Consultant 

Brickman Group – New York City

  • Representing ownership in the acquisition and renovation of a 175 room St. Regis Hotel in Washington D.C. Project completed on time and on budget. Budget $60 million.

Fortunoff – New York City

  • Represented ownership (The Fortunoff Family) in the development of a 270,000 square foot mixed-use project containing a 190,000 square foot Fortunoff Department store, 80,000 square feet of mixed retail including a Cheesecake Factory, a 40,000 square foot Whole Foods gourmet market and others. The project also included construction of a 1,000 car parking deck. Budget $90 million.

Senior Vice President

City Place – West Palm Beach, FL

Recently completed construction of a 55-acre mixed use development including 630,000 square feet entertainment and retail center in West Palm Beach, Florida. City Place contains approximately 100 stores including Macy’s, Barnes and Noble, FAO Schwartz, Restoration Hardware, a 20 screen Muvico Theater, four parking decks, and over 600 residential units. Further, CityPlace encompasses the award winning restoration of a historic Methodist Church transforming it into the 350 seat Harriet Himmel Gilman Theater for Cultural and Performing Arts. In addition to building design and construction, I was responsible for all Ron Eng’s and was the liaison with City staff. Project Budget over $200 million. 

The Palladium at Birmingham, MI

A 140,000 square foot downtown development that includes 126,000 leasable square feet of retail, restaurants and a 2,650-seat 12-screen state of the art cinema. Includes The Willits, a 57-unit luxury condominium with 25,000 square feet of ground floor retail space.

Corporate Property Investors (CPI)

Director of Development, 1981 to 1997

Responsible for the redevelopment of the following projects:

  • South Shore Plaza – Braintree, MA 1995-1997

The vertical expansion of an existing 1,250,000 square foot regional mall anchored by Lord & Taylor, Sears, Macy’s and Filenes. Added 200,000 square feet of new GLA; expanded Filenes by 20,000 square feet and constructed a new 1,600-car three-level parking structure; extensive off site mitigation including the widening of a state highway. Budget over $100 million.

  • Burlington Mall – Burlington, MA 1994-1995

A second vertical expansion containing a new 12-tenant food court on an expanded upper level and added another 20,000 square feet of GLA. Budget $15 million. 

  • Nanuet Mall – Rockland County, NY 1993-1995

Horizontally expanded an existing 660,000 square foot regional mall anchored by Macy’s and Sears. Added 75,000 square feet of new GLA and a 180,000 square foot A&S (later converted to a Stern’s) and a 900-car parking structure. Budget $85 million. 

  • Burlington Mall – Burlington, MA 1987-1988

Vertical expansion of a 1,050,000 square foot mall anchored by Lord & Taylor, Filenes, Sears and Macy’s. The expansion added 127,000 square feet of new GLA to a new upper level and was completed in 20 months with 88% of new GLA occupied at opening. At the time, this project was the third expansion of its type in the USA. Budget $63 million. 

  • Business Park Development – Seattle, WA 1981 – 1985

Responsibilities included the acquisition of several business park properties and the development of over 1 million square feet of office and industrial space.
